Calling for all Interstellar Intern applications!

Ever wondered what it would be like to work in the music industry? How about at a company going Beyond The Traditional to make the music industry a better place?


Well...you're in the right place! Brain Candy Management is looking for four new Interns for Spring 2022.


Both remote and in-person position options are available. In-person positions will take place at our Candy Land office in Nashville, Tennessee.

DIGITAL MEDIA INTERN

Brain Candy Management (BCM) is seeking a Social Media + Digital Marketing Intern who will assist in various roles across our marketing and creative departments. We are looking for an entrepreneurial creative to join our team and assist us in going beyond the traditional for our clients. The Digital Media Intern will report directly to the Creative Overlord. We’re looking for a Nashville, TN based Social Media + Digital Marketing intern for Spring 2021.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in graphic creation including:

Documents such as - Artist EPKs, service brochures, and branding decks/guides

Social graphics, Merch graphics, and more.

  • Assist in content creation, behind the scenes content, and asset gathering including minor video editing and graphic creation

  • Assist Creative Overlord with in-person video and photoshoots

  • Assist in social media management and engagement on behalf of the BCM Humans

  • Research social media algorithmic changes, trends, potential collaborators, and opportunities.

  • Assist in creating copy for various assets ranging from artist bios to website blurbs.

  • Research and write music-related articles for BrainCandyMGMT.com

  • Assist in creating email campaigns and newsletters consistent with the BCM brand image

  • Assist in ideation of social media campaigns for artists, Brain Candy and it’s various entities (BCMU, BCPub, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a degree related to digital media, film, photography, marketing, graphic design, or a similar degree. College/Trades-school credit is required for this position - a letter from the administration is required if a position is offered.

  • Proficiency with Adobe Spark, Photoshop, and Lightroom - Illustrator and Premiere Pro/Rush a plus

  • Experience with social media management and engagement growth

  • Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals

  • Experience writing/editing for the web (blogging and other web-based content)

  • Professional rhetoric and communication skills

  • Extremely detail-oriented

  • Strong project management and organization skills

  • Proficiency with Google Suite, especially Docs and Slides

  • Must possess a basic understanding of music business/industry vocabulary

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • This is an unpaid position: College/Trades-school credit is required for this position - Letter from administration or proof of credit is required if the position is offered

  • 10-15 hours per week

  • College/Trade-school credit is required

  • Ability to work remotely via their own device

  • Three-month commitment required: January 2022-May2022

ARTIST MANAGEMENT INTERN

Brain Candy Management (BCM) is seeking an Artist Management Intern who will assist in the Artist Management, Distribution, Artist Promotions, and Marketing departments. We are looking for an entrepreneurial creative to join our team and assist us in going beyond the traditional for our clients. The Artist Management intern will report directly to the Keeper of the Realm, Tony Chiarella. While we’d generally prefer our interns to be based in Nashville, TN we are waiving that requirement for this position due to, you guessed it - Covid-19, thus all internships will be remote opportunities.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in day-to-day artist management

  • Take detailed notes during artist management meetings

  • Assist in the organization and development of strategies and timelines

  • Assist in communication with members of projects

  • Assist in the distribution and PRO registration

  • Assist in marketing plan creation

  • Researching artist sponsorship and partnership opportunities

  • Assist in artist website maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a degree related to the music business, audio, business administration, marketing, or artist management. College/Trades-school credit is required for this position - a letter from the administration is required if a position is offered.

  • Professional rhetoric and communication skills

  • Extremely detail-oriented

  • Extremely attuned to working within short timelines

  • Strong timeliness in responding to communications

  • Willingness to perform different tasks each week

  • Strong understanding of deadline-based projects

  • Strong project management and organization skills

  • Proficiency with Google Suite, especially Sheets and/or Excel

  • Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical and Publishing Royalties

  • Knowledge of SEO and Web Optimization a plus

​BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION INTERN

Brain Candy Management (BCM) is seeking a Business Administration Intern who will assist in project management across our Business Management, Publishing, and Finance departments . We are looking for an entrepreneurial creative to join our team and assist us in going beyond the traditional for our clients. The Business Administration Intern will report directly to the Keeper of the Realm, Tony Chiarella. While we’d generally prefer our interns to be based in Nashville, TN we are waiving that requirement for this position due to, you guessed it - Covid-19, thus this internship will be a remote opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in project management

  • Assist in organization and development of project spreadsheet

  • Assist in building marketing plans, business plans, and service proposals

  • Assist in maintaining online service platforms (Upwork, Soundbetter, Alignable, Fiverr, etc.)

  • Assist in organization and development of company email list

  • Assist in publishing database organization

  • Assist in utilizing data to develop business and marketing strategies

  • Assist in website SEO

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a degree related to music business, or business administration and development. College/Trades-school credit is required for this position - letter from administration is required if a position is offered.

  • Knowledge of Data Analytics

  • Knowledge of SEO and Web Optimization a plus

DATA ANALYTICS INTERN

Brain Candy Management (BCM) is seeking a Data Analytics Intern who will assist in the Distribution, Finance, and Marketing departments . We are looking for an entrepreneurial creative to join our team and assist us in going beyond the traditional for our clients. The Data Analytics Intern will report directly to the Keeper of the Realm, Tony Chiarella. While we’d generally prefer our interns to be based in Nashville, TN we are waiving that requirement for this position due to, you guessed it - Covid-19, thus this internships will be a remote opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in quarterly distribution royalty reporting

  • Assist in merchandise reporting and analysis

  • Assist in creating target markets based on ad data

  • Assist in streaming and social media analytics

  • Assist in the development of marketing strategies based on data

  • Assist in analyzing data through our third-party partner apps

  • Assist in creating ads and ad sets via Facebook Ads and Google Adsense

  • Assist in financial reporting and analytics through distribution, PROs, and publishing

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a degree related to music business, data analytics, finance, business administration, or marketing. College/Trades-school credit is required for this position - letter from administration is required if a position is offered.
